Dallas, Texas (April 17, 2023) – MODE Global is excited to announce the promotion of Gene Welsh to chief transportation officer (CTO). As a member of MODE Global’s leadership team, Welsh previously served as senior vice president of international.
As CTO, Welsh will have oversight and accountability for all transportation modes. This will include mode-specific strategy development, capacity planning, vendor management, compliance, technology, value proposition development, branding and marketing, service model development, dynamic transportation technology and revenue growth.

Welsh started his logistics career in June of 2006 and has held various roles within the international logistics field from operations to global tender management and most notably as a leader in the Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) transportation segment since 2010. In his extensive background, he has directly supported the management and development of various key transportation solutions from an NVOCC perspective, and as a consultant to many beneficial cargo owner client supply chains. Welsh has also led the commercial oversight of all NVOCC activity at his prior organization.

Welsh will report directly to Malesh in his new role. He is based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
